Enel siglo XIX, cuando las ciencias socialestodav\u00eda estaban en su infancia, el trabajo de registrar los efectos del procesode la industrializaci\u00f3n y la urbanizaci\u00f3n sobre la vida personal y familiarqued\u00f3 a cargo de novelistas, dramaturgos, periodistas y reformadores sociales. En laactualidad, un proceso similar de cambio cultural tiene lugar entre los pueblosde los pa\u00edses menos desarrollados, pero no encontramos ninguna efusi\u00f3ncomparable de una literatura universal que nos ayudar\u00eda a mejorar nuestracomprensi\u00f3n del proceso y de la gente.
