Seguidamente, en las conferencias 2.\u00aa, 3.\u00aa, 4.\u00aa, 5.\u00aa y 6.\u00aa, Lasker comenta varios sistemas de aperturas (Ruy L\u00f3pez, Gambito Evans, Gambito de Rey y Defensa Francesa) indicando con an\u00e1lisis l\u00f3gicos las ventajas y desventajas de cada jugada. Despu\u00e9s, en la 7.\u00aa y 8.\u00aa conferencia, se nos describe detalladamente el juego de ataque, ilustr\u00e1ndolo con las brillantes partidas de Morphy, Anderssen, Steinitz, Tarrasch y las del propio Lasker en su match contra Blackburne. A continuaci\u00f3n, la 9.\u00aa conferencia desarrolla los principios fundamentales de la defensa.
